Fighting the Urge...

I am sorry about my absence this week, my 88 year old Nana was hospitalized and had a pacemaker put in, she is home now but we are having to figure out her care plan, along with all of the trips to the hospital and to her house which means I have been on the road quite a bit at all hours of the day and night. I have noticed that there are a lot of people who have done their Christmas decorating early!

I have a confession to make I love, love, looooove Christmas and I am truly fighting the urge to decorate now. It seems we are all in need of a little more Christmas magic than usual. My usual routine is to pull out all of my Christmas decor the day after Thanksgiving so while everyone else is doing the "black Friday" thing I have put on my Santa hat, cranked up the holiday tunes and am cheerfully decorating for Christmas, but now I am thinking so what if I pull it out now, it's only a week early. I have even seen lit and decorated Christmas trees in peoples windows this week and that makes it even tougher to fight the early urge. Are any of you decorating yet or have finished decorating?

Here are a few of my favorite Christmas decorating ideas:

Modern Touches

Fill your favorite bowls, compotes and vases with bulbs, beads and garlands.

Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy your moments,

Don't fight the urge to decorate for Christmas. It brings you happiness, so you do it. God Bless your Nana, so glad she is doing so well. Go ahead, decorate and celebrate - you have a reason too.

I think I will put some lights on the bushes and decorate my door this weekend while the weather is still nice. I will also pull down the tree and set up with lights. Will decorate the day after Thanksgiving.

I LOVE your decorating inspiration pictures! SO beautiful. I've already decorated. Actually, my kids did most of the decorating...not quite photo worthy. ;-)

Sorry to hear about your Nana being sick. Sending some well wishes her way!

Love your site and blogs.....I work in a lovely gift store that has about 23 trees, big and small, decorated for Christmas. The special Christmas part of the store opens every Oct 1st, so we start decorating the trees in mid-Sept. With so much Christmas at the store, I now start my own home Christmas decorating in November....before I get burned out at the store :) Go for it!

Great photos. I start decorating either Thanksgiving evening or on black Friday too. Why be stressed out in crowds when I could be drinking hot cocoa and having fun decorating!
