A Design and Lifestyle Blog

Welcome Cup of Tea Chichomeblog.com

Hi, welcome to my CHIC HOME blog!

I am so happy you are here and I have been looking forward to meeting you.

Today I thought I would start the blog off with a personal post by sharing a little bit about myself.

I was born and raised in Southern California. I got my first camera when I was 9 yrs old, a brand new Brownie and I adored that camera. It sparked my life long affair with photography. I took some well posed images per my mother's instruction on how to use a camera and had them developed with my allowance money.

They were perfect for my mother... buuuuut I quickly learned that taking pictures without all that posing was a lot more fun and much more interesting much to my mother's dismay after which she set down a list of do's and dont's in regards to photographing grown ups; ie her.

In high school I decided to take photography to improve my skills. The male instructor told me after my first few assignments that I wasn't any good and I should quit. I didn't. Then there was the male chemistry teacher that dismissed me after a week and said I didn't have the intelligence for chemistry and insisted I transfer. I did but I went to college and I received a degree in Respiratory Science and sent him a copy of my intelligence. That was life for girls in the 70's, but I digress.

I have really never been without a camera since! Well that is not exactly true...there was this one time when I was taking pictures, with my brand new Minolta, of my new husband's awesome water skiing maneuvers and the houseboat hit a wake and ... well you know what came next. My new Minolta and our vacation photos are still lying somewhere at the bottom of Lake Powell.

I have gotten better at taking pictures and holding on to my camera. Close up, candid and product photography is my passion. I really do enjoy being a photographer. It is one of my great joys in life.  I will be sharing that joy with you on the blog because most of the photos showcased will be my own unless otherwise noted.

Growing up summers in our house were all about the sun, fun and the ocean. We loved it and continued that with our kids, who didn't like it and our grandchildren who absolutely loved it.

We got to spend a year in Oregon with our grandchildren. It was one of our greatest adventures so far.

What does all this have to do with a home and design blog?

I am so glad you asked?

"My life experiences and special moments in time make me who I am ... good or bad. They fuel the soul and propel us to where we are supposed to be, when we are supposed to be there."

You can read more about me and what makes me tick in my bio .

Enjoy every minute of your life's journey!
